Feed Supervisor

– Responsible for reading bunks and distributing appropriate rations to cattle daily as well as communicating all rations to team members.  
– Operates a feed truck to distribute a quantity of feed to cattle daily by following specific standards regarding accuracy, distribution, and timeliness.
– Works with nutritionist for optional ingredients that work with our rations.
– Corrects mistakes by shoveling over fed quantities back onto truck, cleaning up feed spills.
– Cleans bunks regularly including removal of manure and other debris.
– Responsible for leadership within the feed department training, supervising, evaluating, and leading team members.
– Communicates with Yard Manager and across departments to ensure optimal function of Feed Department.
-Performs truck inspection and daily preventative maintenance on feed truck including checking fluids, tires, and lights alerting Yard Manager of any problems with equipment.
-Maintains a clean truck by cleaning out trash, wiping out, and washing according to schedule.
-Performs regular cleaning and maintenance of facilities including the truck garage areas, micro rooms, and batching areas. 
-Performs weekly checks of truck scale and mixer scale. 
-Leadership, teamwork, communication, and efficiency are essential as well as assisting in various departments of the feed yard when necessary. 
-Acts as a leader of the Dinklage safety program implementing policies and procedures and keeps up to date with safety regulations and requirements.
-Professionalism is expected including courtesy and respect to team members, customers, and vendors.
